Dior Grand Soir Automate Étoile de Monsieur Dior

For the first time, Dior Grand Soir enters the world of creative complication with a mechanical automaton, pursuing the audacious spirit of the collection since 2012.

Once upon a time... the star of Monsieur Dior.
On the evening of April 18th 1946, the founding-couturier wanted to believe in his fabulous destiny. While walking through the streets of Paris, he found a star on the ground.

This providential star, a lucky charm – which became an iconic Dior fundamental - showed him the path to follow: that of creating his couture house.

Through its virtuoso animations, the Grand Soir Automate Etoile of Monsieur Dior edition transcribes this magical prophecy.

This dial, imagined as a dreamlike scene, evokes a small refuge of the marvelous: the different layers create depth and magic, immersing us in a nocturnal stroll of spellbinding reliefs.
In the heart of the City of Light, the windows of 30 Montaigne are lit. Behind the emblematic hôtel particulier, the Parisian rooftops melt into the midnight sky. In a palette of blues, a nebula mingles reveals with a precious milky way set with diamonds.

The lines of a celestial map are drawn, recalling Christian Dior’s passion for astrology. The constellation of Aquarius, the founding-couturier’s astrological sign, is revealed and sparkles like a final lucky omen.
By activating the automaton, the sky of this Diorama becomes the theater of a true enchantment. A shooting star comes to life and glides to the horizon. The diamond-set stars appear and disappear infinitely behind the engraved mother-of-pearl clouds.
This magical journey continues outside the dial: on the case set with diamonds, then on the bracelet where the wonders of the sky melt into the deep black of night.
Everything is a sign.
Everything makes sense.
