description

In 1993, Dior revealed the first velvet edition of the iconic 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette. To celebrate its love story with this texture, the 5 Couleurs Couture palette is donning its velvety cloak once again. Its soft, matte case reveals voluptuous powders that dress the eyes in the utmost couture makeup.

The eyeshadows' fine and creamy powder texture is infused for the first time* with cornflower extract. Each incredibly sensorial eyeshadow instantly bathes the eyelid in intense, longwearing color with a no-makeup feel.

Designed by Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, each of the 5 Couleurs Couture limited-edition palettes features eyeshadows with velvety finishes, from the most matte to the most satiny, in artfully orchestrated shade ranges.

Shades

- The Blue Velvet palette celebrates the House's love of velvet and blue, in eyeshadows with blue-tinged and lavender shades.
- Red Tartan, an elegant and bold palette featuring strong reds and brick that are reminiscent of tartan fabric.
- The Coral Paisley palette draws inspiration from the traditional motif and reinterprets it in warm shades of gold, coral and white.
- The Rosa Mutabilis palette pays homage to the House’s precious rose, with subtle, fresh and pastel pink shades.
- Nude Dentelle, the palette that layers beige and natural shades, like the techniques used in embroidery.

Application Tips

For a natural look:
1. Apply the medium shade on the entire eyelid with the large foam tip applicator to open up the eyes.
2. Then add definition by using the thin foam tip applicator to apply the darkest shade along the lash line.
3. Using the angled shading brush, highlight with the lightest shade beneath the brow arch and at the inner corner of the eye to widen the eyes.

For a sophisticated look:
1. Apply the medium shade on the entire eyelid with the large foam tip applicator to open up the eyes, and then the darkest shade along the lash line with the thin foam tip applicator for definition.
2. Blend over the entire eyelid and outward using the blending brush.
3. Use the large foam tip applicator to highlight with the lightest shade beneath the brow arch and at the inner corner of the eye to create even greater contrast and defined eyes.
