Inhabited by a rebellious soul and the beauty and strength of resilience personified by the iconic figure of Mary Stuart, the silhouettes are revealed through Brigitte Niedermair’s powerful, poetic shots.
In an interplay of light and shadow, at the heart of a gilded setting distinguished by the verdant splendors of the Scottish countryside, the models embody a defiant, triumphant femininity, between gothic romanticism and irresistibly punk impulsiveness. At the convergence of past and present, the pieces tell the story of Scotland’s incredible heritage and combine contrasting elements such as various textures of materials including the velvet and lace that embellish contemporary equestrians.
Renaissance influences are brought to life in taffeta ball skirts, voluminous trains, dresses sublimated by a profusion of precious embroidery, and chainmail transformed into ultramodern plastrons, boleros or crinolines.
A marvelous guiding thread celebrating the eternal kilt, tartan – presented in different nuances of purple, red and yellow – enhances elegant blazers, jackets and pants.
Echoing the divinely bold spirit infusing the line, signature D-Fight boots punctuate looks, leather belts embrace waists and chokers adorned with talismans are brandished around necks. Also illustrating this vision, bags complete the allure with an exceptional touch, exemplified by the emblematic Lady Dior, the Dior Book Tote displaying a map of Scotland, as well as the New Bobby, which is featured here in a variation hemmed with metallic studs.
A fascinating odyssey outlining a conquering, free, infinitely Dior style.
