Dior Grand Soir Automate Jardin Rêvé
For the first time, Dior Grand Soir enters the world of creative complication with a mechanical automaton, pursuing the audacious spirit of the collection since 2012.
Nature has always held a special place in the heart of Monsieur Dior. This explains why the founding-couturier dedicated a room in his Parisian apartment to his love of plants. A winter garden adorned with a large silk tapestry embroidered with branches, flowers and birds.
The Grand Soir Automate Jardin Rêvé collection is a tribute to this passion, retranscribing the different elements of this enthralling place with magic and refinement.
On the dial, precious animals cohabit with a dreamlike flora. Mother-of-pearl roses mingle with fine branches of polished gold and Monstera leaves set with precious stones and beetles.
Luxuriant designs in mother-of-pearl complete this Diorama, simultaneously echoing the toile de Jouy that once embellished 30, avenue Montaigne.
By activating the automaton, this fabulous paradise comes to life and transforms into an enchanted forest.
The golden monkey wanders from branch to branch, while the giraffe hides behind large feathery leaves. In the foreground, a toucan appears, while butterflies enduringly flutter.
This idyllic scene is highlighted by the sumptuous jewel setting of the bezel.
The case, entirely paved with diamonds, becomes a refuge of the marvelous where nature plays a leading role.
This exclusive collection is revealed in a limited numbered edition of 8 pieces, in homage to Monsieur Dior’s lucky-charm number 8.
