The reinvention of 30 Montaigne, photographed by Robert Polidori, captures a gripping journey between past, present and future. Following the reopening of 30 Montaigne, Dior Metamorphosis unveils never-before-seen photographs by Robert Polidori, one of the greatest contemporary photographers and a privileged witness to the restoration of Christian Dior Couture's historic home. Throughout two years of renovations, Robert Polidori followed the various phases of deconstruction and resurrection, creating images that invite us behind the scenes to see the guts of this marvelous refuge, as Christian Dior called it. From the raw setting of debris and dust, light and beauty spring from these unique images. Reflecting reinvention, hallmark House designs — like the signature Bar suit — are featured amid the construction, an artistic statement imbued with Mr. Dior's soul and the ethos of the House. The timeless architecture of the silhouettes acts as a powerful omen for building the fashion and the world of tomorrow. Text by Emanuele Coccia. Photographs by Robert Polidori.
