description

The House of Dior is celebrating May 1st with a numbered re-release of its most precious bottle, designed by Christian Dior in 1956. This tradition dear to the House of Dior honors lily-of-the-valley, Christian Dior's lucky flower and the emblem of warm days.

Dior invites you to discover a spectacular amphora created for Diorissimo, the eau de toilette that celebrates lily-of-the-valley. Each Diorissimo bottle is a unique piece blown in the Baccarat ateliers.

Each amphora is crowned with a majestic bouquet of finely crafted flowers – a rose, jasmine and a carnation, symbolizing the fragrant accord of lily-of-the-valley. This extraordinary, finely gilded cap is the identical reproduction of the original piece designed by Christian Dior.

Heir to Edmond Roudnitska's 1956 masterpiece, Francis Kurkdjian, Dior Perfume Creative Director, revisited each of the raw materials found in Diorissimo. As the passing of time can alter the origin and nature of certain ingredients, he strived to restore the original beauty and absolute luxury of this eau de toilette.

olfactory notes

YLANG-YLANG ESSENCE

Grown in the Comoros Islands, the fresh ylang-ylang blossoms are steam-distilled to create an essence used in perfumery for the composition of numerous fragrances. Ylang-ylang brings elegance, delicateness and originality to the Diorissimo top note.

LILY-OF-THE-VALLEY ACCORD

An emblematic flower of the House of Dior, lily-of-the-valley is often associated with happiness. Despite its intense fragrance, the scent of lily-of-the-valley is impossible to extract, which is why in perfumery it is an accord with green, floral, jasmine and ylang-ylang accents. Soft and fleeting, it unfurls at the heart of Diorissimo.

INDIAN JASMINE ABSOLUTE

A symbol of feminine softness, jasmine is one of the flowers used the most in perfumery. Its delicate scent can be a fragrance all on its own. Jasmine adds an intensely floral base note to Diorissimo.

perfumer's word

"To render all the radiance of the Diorissimo landscape, I drew upon new technologies to recover Roudnitska's original score and recreate the perfect harmony of his composition, its crystalline and sensual beauty."

Application Tips

Each unique piece has been handcrafted with rigorously selected exceptional materials. Any irregularities in the color or material should be considered natural. Given the precious and fragile nature of the materials, we strongly recommend handling your piece with gloves and using a soft brush to clean and maintain it. To avoid oxidation, we advise against using cleaning products. It is also preferable to limit direct exposure to sunlight as this may affect the color of the fragrance.

Re-release of the Legendary Floral Bottle

The spectacular gilded cap of the Diorissimo amphora unfurls an incredible jewelry garden intertwining rose, jasmine and carnation as a symbol of the lily-of-the-valley fragrance accord. Chiseled like an exquisite piece of jewelry, the cap was conceived and designed by Christian Dior himself in 1956. Produced using the centuries-old lost-wax technique, the cap is handcrafted in French high jewelry workshops and gilded with 24-karat gold. Equally rare and luxurious, the amphora is mouth-blown and hand-cut by Baccarat master craftsmen.
