Christian Dior loved to escape to the south of France, far from the hustle and bustle of Paris, to replenish his energy and draw inspiration for his future collections. While staying at his Château de La Colle Noire, he took great joy in exploring the Bay of Angels and the hinterland of Nice where jasmine grew abundantly in the late summer.
Of all the flowers dear to Christian Dior's heart, jasmine was the most representative of those endless summers, when the delicious scent of jasmine filled the air, infusing it with an almost intoxicating fragrance.
