This year, Victoire de Castellane revisits the rich world of couture braids, with the new Galons Dior creations – an echo of the eponymous Haute Joaillerie collection revealed in 2022.
The galon, a piece of fabric composed of repetitive motifs, adorns garments with a sophisticated finishing touch. The Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie has sublimated them through four precious lines. In rose and yellow gold, sometimes punctuated with diamonds, the motifs cross, intertwine and overlap. By turns, they twirl, knot and tangle in an entrancing interplay balancing transparency and layering to form a captivating jewelry creation.
An expression of the couture style so dear to Victoire de Castellane, the Couture Dior collection is enriched by the new Galons Dior creations, combining the brilliance of yellow and rose gold with the purity of diamonds.
The most emblematic piece in the collection, the Galons Dior necklace is composed of four lines of braids, each brought to life by high-precision jewelry techniques.
Thanks to invisible links, the golden motifs are assembled one by one to form precious lines. With an interplay of asymmetry and repetition, the braids then come together in a harmonious, supple balance. Through a combination of different setting techniques, both classic and more innovative such as a semi-closed method, diamonds delicately sublimate the creations.
This layering of braids, which subverts classic jewelry codes, is at the heart of this new collection, and reflects the ingenious research work of France's finest ateliers.
